Calibration Technician

Location: Moscow, RU

Job Description

This position is for a calibration technician working in DINA's Computer Vision team. The potential candidate will be responsible for maintaining, testing, and calibrating a variety of hardware platforms composed of multiple sensors (cameras, IMUs, displays, etc.) and maintaining a small lab.

Responsibilities:

  • Prototyping of electrical, optical, and mechanical systems
  • Contribute to the development of the calibration process by continuous testing and data reporting
  • Maintain an inventory of the calibration status of all devices
  • Configure and maintain calibration engineering lab space
  • Build, maintain and run experimental scripts
  • Write basic experiment protocols
  • Run experiments
  • Document experiments (record conditions, log data, take pictures, etc.)
  • Support electrical, optical, mechanical, and computer vision teams with calibrating brand new manufactured multi-sensor mobile devices

Qualifications:

  • Self-directed, energetic, proactive, and a maker-of-things
  • Excellent ability to improvise to solve problems
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Experience working at the intersection of electronics, sensors, mechanisms, software, and optics
  • Experience with hand and power tools for model-making (electrical and mechanical)
  • Ad-hoc fabrication skills with wood, glue, tape, metal, and fiberglass
  • Capable of following written instructions
  • Capable of writing experiment procedures
  • Experience documenting experiments
  • Experience handling sensitive electrical and optical equipment

Education:

  • Work experience in a relevant field
  • 4-year degree in a technical field is a plus
